Individual Accommodations
What is an Accessibility Partner?
An Accessibility Partner (AP) provides a globally recognized, individualized workplace accommodation. They work alongside professionals with disabilities to identify, avoid, and remove inaccessible barriers, including websites and software, communication channels, and physical spaces. Our APs currently serve blind and low-vision individuals.
Blind and Low-Vision Accommodations
What does an Accessibility Partner do?
Our APs work directly with employees to address disability-related obstacles head-on. These embedded partners provide solutions where assistive technology falls short for blind and low-vision professionals. APs ensure their clients have the information they need to do the essential functions of their job and that human interactions stay human.
Computer Navigation
Many computer programs are inaccessible even with screen readers. APs provide remote support or take direction from their client to carry out work on inaccessible platforms.
Visual Interpretation
APs provide visual interpretation during meetings, presentations, and other social interactions. APs translate visual information such as images, text on screen, and even facial expressions.
In-Person Wayfinding and Travel
Blind and Low Vision professionals can benefit from in-person wayfinding support, especially in new or crowded spaces. Our APs are trained to provide wayfinding for local events and during domestic and international travel.
One to One
Dedicated, Full-Time Support
Our most popular service, we carefully pair clients with APs who share similar subject matter backgrounds. Embedded APs work full-time with their client, becoming deeply familiar with their partner’s work, schedule, team, and needs. This is the best option for professionals experiencing the highest accessibility barriers.

Multi-Client Service
Shared AP Service Within One Organization
APs support two to four clients within one organization, embedding themselves in their clients’ work and company culture. This option is best for clients with medium support needs, or for those who have never used an AP before and may want to try the service before committing to a full-time AP.
Customized helpdesk
Ticketed Helpdesk Build Out
Some organizations have many blind and low-vision employees worldwide who need occasional support. The ETC builds a ticket helpdesk within the organization’s internal systems. Clients can request reoccurring or scheduled support.

Why ETC
Why choose us as your partner in individual accommodation?
Managed Service
ETC recruits, employs, trains, and manages APs. Clients and their teams can focus on their work, not on managing their AP.
Secure and Professional
We follow strict security and privacy protocols, and our APs adhere to the highest standards of discretion and professionalism.
We Just Get It
We are a service built for disabled professionals, by disabled professionals. We understand our clients’ challenges and frustrations, and build solutions informed by shared experience.
Services Coming Soon
Our AP Service is currently taking on new Blind and Low Vision clients. We are currently piloting serving a broader range of disabilities with our existing employer partners. Potential future services may include ASL interpreting, executive function coaching, and varied support for employees with physical disabilities. Stay tuned for more information in late summer 2025.

A reality check on the American workforce: Time to invest in people with disabilities
As leaders grapple with the tight labor market and grim economic forecasts, they need to make investments to make sure all employees, including those with disabilities, can do their best work. American employers favor an idealized and frankly imaginary employee, who is young, able-bodied, neurotypical and unchanging. The problem is this employee does not exist. The reality...
For Disabled Workers, a Tight Labor Market Opens New Doors
The strong late-pandemic labor market is giving a lift to a group often left on the margins of the economy: workers with disabilities. Employers, desperate for workers, are reconsidering job requirements, overhauling hiring processes and working with nonprofit groups to recruit candidates they might once have overlooked. At the same time, companies’ newfound openness to...
